2021 Indian Challenger Limited - Jeff Leisk Review

Stacked with advanced technology features, the Indian Challenger Limited combines modern convenience with touring comfort. Jeff Leisk, Australian Motocross Legend, takes a closer look at all the key features around the 2021 Indian Challenger Limited!

Starting with the front, the Challenger Limited sports inverted front forks for superior suspension performance and dual caliper radially mounted Brembo brakes. For a machine that produces 122Hp and 178Nm of torque, straight from factory, it's nice having high performance stopping power at your disposal.

Moving up, we are greeted with this large front fairing that features full LED lighting. A nice subtle feature is that the War Bonnet also lights up for increased visibility and aesthetics. This large front fairing is great for wind protection, which is paired with a mechanically adjustable windscreen.

At the heart of the Indian Challenger Limited is the all-new liquid-cooled V-Twin engine. The power delivery is instant and surprisingly sporty. Styling-wise, the engine is truly one of the most impressive parts of the motorcycle to look at. With intricately branded logos on the engine casing, dynamic flowing lines and curves, it's a great blend of classic meets contemporary.

What makes this motorcycle so impressive however, is the class-leading technology featured within. This Ride Command 7” screen, enables riders to control not only the entertainment system onboard, yet allows access to key vehicle information, such as Tyre Pressure, Fuel Gauge and Riding Modes. The amount of customisation you have is extensive. Owners are able to fully adjust the layout of the screen to best suit their needs with only a couple of simple touches.

The luxurious onboard entertainment is incredible, with Bluetooth capabilities, Apple Carplay, navigation and music connectivity. Audio-wise, the bike features two 6.5” speakers that deliver 100-watts of crystal-clear audio, which can be dynamically adjusted for certain riding conditions via the Ride Command Screen.

For added safety, Indian’s Smart Lean Technology™ is a welcome addition. If you're unsure as to what this is, it's a combination of advanced safety technologies that keep you grounded and in command of the road with a 6-axis Bosch® IMU. Combining Dynamic traction control, ABS with cornering pre-control, and Drag Torque Control, the bike adjusts torque management, braking performance and traction control to keep this bike upright at all times. It's state-of-the-art technology and works wonders here.

For enhanced comfort in slow-moving traffic and warm-weather conditions, the Challenger Limited has a Rear Cylinder Deactivation feature. This turns off the rear cylinder when the engine gets hot and the bike is stopped, aiming to reduce engine and exhaust heat.

The Indian Challenger Limited without a doubt a bike you need to experience. With a collection of class-leading technology, liberating performance and eye-catching aesthetics, it's a true American bagger, ready to cruise Australia's most scenic roads.
