Riding Routes: Northern Rivers

Ride Overview:

  • Distance: 132 km
  • Riding Time: 2:15 hrs
  • Location: NSW
  • Route: Kyogle > The Channon > Mullumbimby > Mooball > Murwillumbah
  • Difficulty: Moderate

The Northern Rivers’ famous lush rolling hills and National Parks offer an abundance of rural roads for you to explore – this is pleasurable cruising at its best.

So kick up your stand at Kyogle and point your handlebars east towards the coast.

You will have a chance to scrape a peg as you twist your way up and over the range, before descending into the valleys below.

Sweeping curves and straight stretches then take you through abundant farmland, including some of the farms that produce over 90% of NSW’s macadamia nuts.

You will pass lazy cattle grazing in lush paddocks and cross small wooden bridges traversing trickling creeks.

These roads are sometimes narrow and unmarked, but traffic is usually minimal. Keep an eye out for wildlife, as always.

The frequent dappled light of tree-lined roads can be fatiguing for your eyes and concentration, so take the opportunity to kick your stand down in one of the many small villages along the way.

Refuel, refresh and take a moment to thank the motorcycle gods.
